Conservation and Restoration of library and archival assets, works of art on paper and related artifacts

My Restoration Experience

During many years of professional activity I have developed specialized skills in the conservation and restoration of books, archives, works on paper and related artifacts.

In particular, I deal with the analysis of conservation environments and collections (archives, libraries, museum environments, private collections), the prevention of physical, chemical and biological damage, the design of diagnostic protocols aimed at analyzing and evaluating the state of conservation, restoration of book and archival materials, works of art on paper and similar artifacts, conditioning, assembly and preparation of materials for exhibitions, preventive conservation of materials in digitization projects.

I have also been sharing these skills for years through my teaching commitment as a university teacher.

Studies and Experiences

My long training path, as well as many years of experience and continuous updating, have allowed me to specialize in the sector of the restoration of book and archival assets, works of art on paper and related artifacts.

I worked with project contracts at the restoration laboratory of the National Central Library of Rome and as a freelancer for public and private institutions and for individual collectors.

Since 2015 I have been teaching a Restoration Laboratory in the Single-Cycle Course in Conservation of Cultural Heritage at the University of Rome Torvergata.

I have had many opportunities to work with Stefania in recent years and I have always been able to appreciate her ability to combine passion, ingenuity and knowledge of the good she was working on! Fundamental ingredients for a successful job”.

Director of the Library of Archeology and History of Art in Rome, formerly Head of the Protection and Conservation Office of the National Central Library of Rome

When documents are damaged and everything suggests that there is nothing more to do, Stefania intervenes with her “skilled hands”, bringing them back to life.

Supported by a highly respectable theoretical-practical preparation, she takes care of papers and parchments with passion and sensitivity.

Collaborating with this good restorer was pleasant because alongside so much professionalism I found a nice person full of optimism”.
