I was born in Rome, although I have been living in Umbria for a long time, in Spoleto. Destiny brought me to this wonderful little town, where the first part of my studies ended with a thesis in Medieval Archeology and Topography – University of Rome La Sapienza – focused on the hermit settlements in the territory of Spoleto and the monastery of San Giuliano sul Monteluco.

At the same time I graduated in librarianship from the Vatican Apostolic Library and it was during this course of study that my passion for what my future job was to be ignited. I continued my studies at the Foundation for the Conservation of Book Heritage of Spoleto and at the Torvergata University of Rome.

On a personal level, I am very proud to be a mother and I enjoy spending a lot of time with my family. I love being outdoors, both in the midst of nature and in the historic centers of beautiful Italian cities, where a thousand details catch my eye at every corner.

Returning to my professional career, I worked for several years at the Restoration Laboratory of the Central National Library of Rome, where the people I met have become over time my best friends and colleagues. Here I was part of the team of restorers who worked on the Google Books Project, one of the most important international projects for the digitization of book collections, an important experience that allowed me to analyze the state of conservation of thousands of ancient printed volumes of the Central National Library of Rome. Here I deepened my knowledge of binding techniques, given the vastness and importance of the collections, and I had the opportunity to work on assemblies and preparations for important exhibitions.

With this rich experience, I continued my career as a freelancer for public and private institutions, individual collectors and also collaborating with important restoration laboratories such as Coo.Be.C of Spoleto (PG). I have been a lecturer at the University of Rome Torvergata for five years – Single Cycle Degree Course in Conservation of Cultural Heritage (CORLIB), an activity that gives me great satisfaction – follow our updates on Facebook to learn more.

Over the last few years I have been dedicating particular attention to contemporary art on paper, materials and new conservation methods, constantly keeping myself professionally up to date by participating in several courses and workshops. I love to experiment, in particular I like to come into close contact with artists, to be somehow involved in their work to better understand the materials and techniques they use. I think it is very valuable to collaborate with the many professionals figures involve within the industry, while sharing knowledge and getting continuous updates are among the most important aspects of my work.
[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ admin_label=”Footer” _builder_version=”4.5.6″ background_color=”#fffafc”
